This debut is a manifesto, carving out the project’s future direction with precision. The lyrics, delivered in sardonic English, reflect a profound sense of alienation – sometimes from society, sometimes from the self. Eggenberg thrives on contrasts. Brooding guitar riffs and weighty synths cut through the desolate soundscape, moments of unexpected melody offering fleeting glimpses of reconciliation amid the tension. Their ethos “Music from the other side” is both a geographical and philosophical stance. Rooted in Eggenberg, a neglected district of Graz dismissed by many as lifeless, the project reclaims the narrative, proving that what’s overlooked often holds the greatest subversion. But it’s also a critique of societal norms, a sonic rebellion against complacency. Eggenberg is here to unsettle, to challenge, and to expand the limits of what we hear – and what we choose to see. As a follow-up to their single „What A Time“, Eggenberg is set to release an LP in spring 2025.
