The topic of our first episode is twofold: genocide, and an amazing organization that has created a project to help counteract it. Genocide is one of the worst atrocities, as well as one of the leading cases of human rights violations, throughout history. The Armenian Genocide, the Holocaust, and the Rwandan Genocide are scars on the face of our human legacy. After World War II, the world said, "never again." However, genocide endures today in Sudan, Burma, the Congo, and far too many other places across the world. One Million Bones is a project created by the organization Students Rebuild to offer the peacemakers of the world a way to make a difference. Bones are made by people across the world, in honor of the lives lost in armed conflict. Each bone the organization receives is worth a dollar to rehabilitate genocide victims, and the bones will be exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. in June 2013.
