(16 Jun 1998) T/I: 11:24:22 GS: 10:04:29 (19/06/98) Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic agreed Tuesday (16/06) to accept the West's main demands for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Kosovo. In a joint statement issued after talks with Russian President Boris Yeltsin and Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov, Milosevic said Belgrade would halt acts of repression against civilians in Kosovo, allow international missions onto its territory and resume talks with Kosovar Albanians. Following the announcement in Russia, Rugova's special advisor, Gemail Mustafa, said the four conditions imposed by the Contact Group must be met before any meeting takes place. Meanwhile in Albania, the army has started moving refugees from high in the mountains inland so that they can receive the food and medical supplies they desperately need. Other refugees have also trekked for days to reach Montenegro.
