Welcome to Amaco! Certain glazes in combination will flux strongly and flow. Layering these active fluxing glazes with dots or stripes can make the flow a decorative element. Here I apply PC 32, Albany Slip Brown glaze as a base, then use a slip trailer to apply PC-42 Seaweed, an active fluxing glaze, in dots. Make the dots as thick as possible without running. When fired the dots flow outward and look like peacock feathers. Another combination that has an active fluxing effect is PC-37 Smoked Sienna over PC-61 Textured Amber. Not only does the Smoked Sienna flow strongly, but the titanium it contains contrasts with the glossy Textured Amber base glaze. Here its applied in diagonal stripes.
