Every year, the world celebrates World Television Day on November 21 to acknowledge the importance of visual media. The first World Television Forum was celebrated on November 21 in 1996 and the day later came to be known as World Television Day. The UN on Saturday called for #No more sexist ads. #No more stereotypical roles. #No more objectification. #No more under-representation. UN Women called for a new standard for how women and girls are portrayed on television and in the entertainment industry.
