Tropical glaciers are one of the best paradoxes that most people have never heard of. Hundreds of thousands of people depend directly on them, particularly in regions like the northern and central Andes. But they won’t be around forever. Here’s a brief explanation of how they form, how they are affected by climate change, and why we should care. --- I’m Rory, and I’m a PhD researcher at the Bristol Glaciology Centre. I enjoy science, learning and explaining random curiosities in an unnecessary amount of detail. Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter ( / gw4freshprince ) or Mastodon (https://cupoftea.social/@roryburford). --- VIDEO CREDITS This video was written, edited and narrated by Rory Burford.
