Hello everyone, this video is a no-apologies long one, in keeping with the difficulty of this double circle cube puzzle. I really enjoyed working out how to solve this puzzle, although it did cause some problems along the way. Below, I’ve included timings so you can go to a specific section if you want. I hope maybe a few of you might consider watching the whole thing through. As always, my approach is about keeping things simple and using as few algorithms as possible. As such, the last layer edges can probably be done with some different (and longer) algorithms. But my preference for reducing the last layer edges was to try and grok all parts of the thing and encompass every possible situation that might come up, without having to resort to algorithms. Therefore, the only algorithm used in this section is sune. (The only other “non-standard” algorithm I used was one which builds on the corner piece series, which 3-cycles the middle edges, in the last stage of the solve.) A lot of the video is taken up with going through each of the 8 cases I found. The order of the cases is generally from easiest to hardest. I guess the approach to all the cases could be summed up as follows For 2 flipped opposite edges, turn the yellow (00) face one turn and re-solve Then, for a 4-cycle of edges, turn the green (01) face one turn and re-solve Then, do the fix The corners are done in a logical order, being Inner corners first, since this moves middle corners and outer corners Outer corners next, since this moves middle corners (but not inner corners) Middle corners last, since this is a pure 3-cycle A word on the face types: Naming is from inside out… 00: inner circle and middle circle don’t move. 01: inner circle doesn’t move, but middle circle does move. 11: both the inner circle and the middle circle move.
