No Rest for the Weekend host Jason Godbey interviews John Slattery about his latest project, Nuremberg starring Russell Crowe and Rami Malek. Produced & Created by Jason Godbey Description: Slattery plays Colonel Andrus, the man in charge of the prison where the remaining members of Nazi's high command were held until the trial. Slattery spoke about his reaction to the script when he first read it saying "I was surprised by how entertaining it was despite the gravity of the material. He [writer/director James Vanderbilt] had put together a thriller about the lead up and execution of the Nuremberg trials... I wanted to be a part of it, and now that it's done, I'm glad I am. " When asked about the importance and significance of this film coming out in 2025 he said, "Everyone felt an obligation to do their best work, and maybe that's a reflection on the characters in the story being obligated to not make any mistakes. The eyes of the world were on this trial, and it was a high stakes, pressurized situation of ultimate importance that these men be put on trial and show the world what they did.... The relevance to what's going on, it couldn't be plainer. The fact that it's coming out at this period in our history is more than coincidental." When asked how it felt to bring Nuremberg to theaters, he replied, "I'm glad it's coming out in theaters. It's 1200 screens. It's a big. old school, theatrical release which I think is appropriate for the way it was made, shot, the subject matter, the obvious relevance to the world today... I'm excited to let people see it, and I hope they do." Nuremberg opens in theaters this Friday, November 7th.
