A looped instrumental taken from a cut from LA the Darkman [a Wu-Tang affiliated-emcee] and his debut album entitled “Heist of the Century”, which was released on November 17th, 1998. LA the Darkman, born as Lason Jackson, was born in New York City, New York and grew up Crown Heights, Brooklyn with his brother William Jackson (Willie the Kid). He negotiated his first deal while finishing high school and was a protégé of the Wu-Tang Clan having grown particularly close with various members. Jackson later secured a distribution deal through Navarre Distribution, with whom he released his debut album Heist of the Century in 1998. Darkman has been recording music since 1995, starting out with his debut single “I Want It All” (prod. by Carlos ‘Six July’ Broady from The Hitmen Production Team - he produced a majority of his debut album as well). He is best known for his collaborations with producers and rappers such as DJ Muggs, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, DJ Drama & Don Cannon, Havoc (of Mobb Deep), etc. This beat was produced by the critically-acclaimed and legendary beatmaker/rapper RZA, one of the original founders of the Wu-Tang Clan. Fun fact: there are two samples of this record … both songs are by O.V Wright: • “The Time We Have” by O.V Wright (1977) • “A Fool Can’t See The Light” by O.V Wright (1989)
