Maranoa Regional Council Meeting Snapshot – Thursday, 12 February 2026 We’re kicking off February with some exciting updates from the last Council meeting! Here are just a few key outcomes of second Ordinary Meeting of the year: Adoption of the Community and Not-for-Profit Groups' Use of the Dianne Gibson Artwork: As a further development, in the Council meeting we adopted the Community and Not-for-Profit Groups' Use of the Dianne Gibson Artwork policy. This streamlines approvals for community and not-for-profit groups in the Maranoa region to use The Drive Trail Artwork for promotional materials. Business Excellence Program - Updated Terms of Reference: Council endorsed updated Terms of Reference to strengthen governance and ensure the program continues delivering strong outcomes for local businesses and our region. Consideration of Project Nominations | Queensland Government 2026-27 Active Transport Grants Program: Council endorsed submitting an application for the design of a dedicated walkway along Bungil Street, connecting the Adungadoo Pathway to the Touch Fields. We’re also seeking construction funding for a new pathway along Miscamble Street from the Carnarvon Highway to Arthur Street, and for a new pathway linking Surat Hospital to the school. Leachate & Stormwater Management Tender - Award Recommendation: Council awarded the tender for the installation of Leachate and Stormwater Management Systems at Roma’s Waste Management Facility. The tender was awarded to Durack Civil Pty Ltd.
