The Shaniwar Wada is a historic fortification in the city of Pune, Maharashtra, India. It was built in the 18th century as the palace of the Peshwas, the Prime Ministers of the Maratha Empire. The fortification is built of stone and mortar, and it is one of the most important structures in Pune's history. It took around 2 years to complete the construction and the total cost incurred at that time was Rs.16,110. Did you know there are around 5 Darwazas (Doors) the huge entrance and first darwaza being the Delhi Darwaza. The other four are Narayan Darwaza, Ganesh Darwaza, Khidki Darwaza and Mastani Darwaza. The palace was of seven storeys initially but the other six wooden storeys collapsed in fire and only the stone base floor remains there to tell the story. In this video, I have shown the grandeur of the palace, with its intricate carvings and impressive architecture. The palace is situated on the banks of the Mutha River, providing a picturesque setting for the fortress. This video also show some of the palace's rich history and cultural significance, as well as the recent renovations and preservation efforts that have been undertaken to maintain the structure. This video also feature a guided tour of the palace, where the guide would take viewers through the various sections of the palace and explain the historical and cultural significance of each area. This include the Durbar Hall, where the Peshwas would hold court, the palace's private quarters, and the various temples and shrines located within the palace grounds.
