It is a brilliant example of how the people of Fulda treat their historic building with care. Until the late 1960s, the building was not very representative. The imposing gable and Gothic turrets had been lost over the centuries, and the second floor had a simple hipped roof. It is thanks to the architect and cultural award winner of the city of Fulda, Ernst Kramer, that the building was extensively partially reconstructed in 1968/70 based on historical models - a project that was not without controversy at the time. Today, the people of Fulda are happy about the decision made at the time, as the old town hall is one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in the entire city center. Stadtschloss Fulda The Fulda city palace, today the seat of the city administration, was built between 1708 and 1714 as the residence of the Fulda prince abbots and later the prince bishops. Architect was the master builder Johann Dientzenhofer, commissioned by Prince Abbot Adalbert I von Schleifras.
