🚗✨ Discover one of the rarest Volkswagen barnfinds ever uncovered! This video showcases a 1951 Volkswagen Austro Tatra 2-door Cabrio, a true automotive treasure hidden away in an Austrian barn for over 40 years. Only nine examples of this unique coachbuilt Cabrio were ever produced, and the car featured here is the very first one built. Its survival makes it an extraordinary piece of Volkswagen history and a must-see for classic car enthusiasts. This particular car was finished in 1951 based on a 1950 Sedan and was original one of the 53 cars delivered to the Gendamerie in darkgrey (you can see the original darkgrey color underneath the red). This example went to the Gandamerie in Graz car was only used 1 year. The previous owner's family got the car allready in 1952 and were part of the volunteer Fire Brigade in Purgstall/Erlauf. That's why the car was painted red and was used as fire Brigade car. After using the car for some decades, they parked the car on top of a shelf in the barn. The car is actually pretty good. The original engine could still be turned by hand and we believe it would not be very hard to get it running again.
