🌍 Where Ideas Ignite and Unity Prevails: Dialogue for Peace – The Great Debate Challenge In 2023, the Founder of the Maibakam Initiative, Aisha Rilwanu Musa, secured an individual grant from LEAP Africa and the Nigerian Youth Future Fund (NYFF), emerging as one of 200 successful applicants out of over 5,000 applicants nationwide. With this support, we launched the pioneering “Dialogue for Peace: The Great Debate Challenge” on June 1, 2024 — a debate competition designed to promote peaceful coexistence, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue among students. This impactful initiative reached: ✅ 100 students ✅ 20 teachers ✅ 50+ audience members Participants were equipped with practical knowledge on peacebuilding and conflict resolution. We also distributed “Readings on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution” textbooks and established peacebuilding clubs in participating schools to ensure long-term sustainability. One of the major outcomes of this project was a partnership with Famaks British Schools, which has committed to hosting the program annually. Building on this success, we further collaborated with the Museum and Creative Minds, Kaduna, to organize a historical program on October 1, 2024, in celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day. This initiative was launched under the Maibakam Initiative and proudly supported by @ng_youthfund and @leapafrica. 📌 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more inspiring stories on youth leadership, peacebuilding, and community impact. #DialogueForPeace #GreatDebateChallenge #MaibakamInitiative #Peacebuilding #YouthLeadership #LEAPAfrica #NYFF #Kaduna #Nigeria
