This is such a beautiful cultural celebration! I am not Hispanic, but living in central Texas has given me a huge appreciation for this particular holiday. Almost one year ago, just a few days shy, I lost my Grandmother. I’ve loss several close relatives on my mothers side, but this was the first on my fathers side. Due to the amount of people passing I knew it would be important to cultivate and strengthen the relationship I had with her. Successfully I did before she passed, but would have loved more time. I know she’s in a better place, even as I miss her so!!! As she would always say “I love you mucho, mucho!” What is Dia De Los Muertos? The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico and elsewhere associated with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and to remember friends and family members who have died. I know it’s an animated movie, but if you haven’t seen the movie “Coco”...such a beautiful way to get glimpse of a culture. It gets me every time! 😢
