Hi, My name is Simy. I am an Airbnb Ambassador and SuperHost. I am going to share my experience from my trip to visit family in Goa, India in the middle of a pandemic. I was asked Is Goa safe? Is Goa open during the pandemic? And the answer to both questions is a profound Yes!  Next I will cover 7 things I did in Goa! Also coming up is the 15 things you didn't know about Goa! Is Goa Safe?Goa is as safe as any other tourist towns. Remember to take common sense precautions to stay safe just like in your own home.  Is Goa open during the pandemic?Goa's economy is primarily dependent on tourism. 7million tourists visit every year with 1 million foreigners. After being lockdown during the pandemic for 7 months, Goa Announced plan to reopen the state in September 2020. yes, now You don't have to take an E-Pass to get in, You don't need to take a COvid Test. And also no need for Quarantine. Goa is now open. Hotels, Beaches, restaurants and bars are all open.  My first year in college we heard a lot about an epic trip to goa  of our  senior students under the leadership of this dude Prakash. The shenanigans from this epic journey are legendary. I first visited Goa about 20 years ago. The main differences now are the floating Casinos, Mall De Goa, Atal Setu bridge that connects Panjim and Porvorim. It seems like it's wedding season in Goa First, Trying out Goan Fish Curry Rice Thali meals at Ritz. Our friend Bipin took us to this great place for lunch. We met up with newly weds Antony and Chacko there who were on a trip to Goa. This meal is so delicious and it has 5varieties of seafood including Crab, Fish Fry and Fish Curry. It's only 286 Rupees. about 4 bucks.  Second visiting Bom Jesus Basilica church where Saint Francis Xavier's relics and non decomposed body are kept in a silver casket. St. FRancisc Xavier preached gospel in India in 1542 while Portugese ruled goa. He turned many to his faith. He then planned to introduce Christianity in China. He landed in  Macau and later died there.Saints body was brought back to goa in 1553.  Third Feni tasting and Dinner at Darya Deger. Feni is a unique liquor made in Goa. There are two types: one made from Cashew and one from Coconut. I liked the Cashew Feni better.  Fourth Checking out South Goa Beaches and beach restaurant Southern Deck. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset in Benaulim Beach in South Goa.Then had dinner at this beach restaurant called Souther deck. They have great food and drinks. Service was slow. They have live music, Live art, DJ and dance floor as well. Fifth Checking out North Goa Beaches and dinner at Ida a Boutique Bar and restaurant near Vagator beach. We were looking for a place to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. My Cousin Biju recommended his favourite mixologist Dev from Dubai who is running this bar at Ida. Ida has great food, fine ambience and thoughtful touches. Sixth Checking out night life at Cohiba Bar and Kitchen at Sinquerim beach north goa. Cohiba has Live band, Great drinks, Tapas style food, and a dance floor.  Seventh We stayed at Prainha Resort with a private beach on  Dias Beach. This resort is right next to Dona Paula and it cost about $80 per night with a clean swimming pool and free breakfast. There were  Live omelette and live Dosa stations with fresh squeezed fruit juices. There is nothing like waking up on the beach go for a swim and eat a healthy breakfast under the palm trees.while staying at Prainha, We had dinner at this nice restaurant called O'pescador. Great food, drinks, service right on the beach.
