KIRKTON FARM - FRASERBURGH

I filmed this before demolition as a record of this auld fairmtoon. It was Captain Pennycook's farm. He had been a Captain in the Royal Engineers during WW11 and spent some years abroad with a tea planting company. He and his wife Susan set up farming after coming home. He was a real character. His two shetland collie dogs were also characters and they ruled the back seat of his Austin Princess. They were called Weesie and Tessie. Although John was a military man and acted the part it was Susan who was the BOSS and that showed very clearly as when she wanted things done her charm disappeared and she growled at him and ran about doing what he was told. Susan was a very nice lady and John was a character. I had pictures of them but it seems I have lost them, which is a pity.
