How to get better at improvisation on guitar? In this video I will show you 5 great tips for more melodic solos and improvisation that should really help you breaking out the scale patterns. Most of us learn the scales firsts and then we try to come up with some music using the those patterns. This can turn out to become really frustrating as improvising using scales can sound very 'boxy'. In this lesson I wanted to show you a simpler way to approach improvisation that will help you playing in a more melodic way. In my opinion simpler is better when it comes to improvisation as the less we need think, the more we are free to express ourselves in the music. This is an ideal lesson for beginners and intermediate guitarists who want to improve their blues and rock soloing skills. There is a book by the bass legend Victor L Wooten that I would recommend to everyone who wants to learn more about this approach to music and improvisation: https://amzn.to/3t2Mujz If you'd like to support my work you can join my Patreon where you will have access to some exclusive licks, TABS and theory tutorials: / kbald Here are some links to the gear I'm using in this video: Pitbull Strings Long Life Edition 10-46 : https://amzn.to/3LkjuLt Fender Deluxe Cable: https://amzn.to/3JbAH8b 00:00 How to get better at improvisation? 00:37 Tip #1 - The one string approach 02:27 Tip #2 - Limit yourself to 4 notes 04:09 Tip #3 - Rests/space 06:23 Tip #4 - Use dynamics 07:56 Tip #5 - Follow the chord notes
