Hi Explorers, We welcome you to the first Day of our Seattle to San Francisco California Road trip, We drove from Seatle Washington from Interstate-5 we pass by Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver Washington before crossing Interstate Bridge to Oregon State, We cross Interstate Bridge or Columbia River Interstate Bridge Spanning at Columbia River in Between Washington State and Oregon State it open in 1917 as a single bridge and a second twin Bridge and a second twin Bridge on 1958. we stop by at Cottage Groove, Oregon for our lunch, stop by at a rest stop near Grants Pass, Oregon, bought some ice cream from Wendy's to treat ourselves. We cross the Oregon and California Border, be prepared to stop at Hornbrook Agricultural Inspection Station to declare what agricultural things you have in your car. please visit www. cdfa.ca.gov for more information. We stop by at mount Shasta viewing point for souvenir pictures. Mount Shasta is an active stratovolcano at the southern end of the cascade at Siskiyou County California, it is the 2nd Highest peak in the Cascade and fifth in the State. we spent the night at Red Bluff California after 13 hours of driving for 622 miles, 2 rest stops, 2 Gas Refuel Stop. the next morning we drove again to interstate 5 heading to Vacaville, Vallejo, Richmond, Oakland California and Passing by Bay Bridge located interstate 80 a Direct Road between Oakland California and San Francisco it opens on Nov. 12,1936 six months before the Golden Gate Bridge it has $7 toll entering San Francisco. our fist stop is San Francisco City Hall located at City's Civic Center the earlier City Hall was destroyed during 1906 earthquake two blocks from the present one. it re opened in 1915 the City Hall Dome is taller than of the United States Capitol Dome by 42 feet.
