Modern Gauge 2m Live Steam: Garden Railway with Coal-fired Locomotive

Visiting the garden railway of a friend in summer of 2014. The first loco in the clip is gas-fired. The second loco has successfully been converted from gas firing to coal firing. If you have ever tried to ignite stone coal you know the average lighter won't work - you need proper heat and a proper airflow to keep it burning. That means the loco's firebox and boiler had to be converted extensively. The loco is a reliable and quite strong loco, even if it has to be stopped every few minutes to put some more coal into the firebox. A low-sided open wagon behind the loco transports the coal supply and helps avoiding to have to uncouple the whole train to add coal. Both locos are remote controlled.
