Straight to the Demo. Soooooooo, Let’s Get Started. macOS Mojave brings new changes and enhancements to Finder, in particularly Quick Actions. Activating the Preview sidebar when in Icon, list or the all new Gallery view, either by clicking on View and selecting Show Preview from Finder menubar or using the keyboard shortcut shift-command-P, there's an area at the bottom of the sidebar where you can invoke Quick Actions. For example, Quick Actions that you act on selected item or items, like Rotate or Markup an image. Furthermore; Quick Actions are customizable, where you can create Automator actions and assign them to buttons inside of Finder. Having said that, let's create a custom Automator Quick Action button to Watermark PDF Documents. Surprisingly, this is very easy to do. Simply open Automator and click File, then New and then choose the “Quick Action Workflow”. Now, on the left panel, click PDF and click and drag “Watermark PDF Documents” action to the space shown here. Click the Add button and locate the Watermark image you want to use. Once selected, you can fine tune the placement, angle and opacity. Let's now choose where to copy your Watermarked PDF documents. Select Files & Folders then click and drag "Move Finder Items" action. I'll choose in the Documents Folder as shown here. Then save the Quick Action with an appropriate name like ”Watermark PDF" Incidentally, anytime you wish to change the Watermark image, simply open the saved automator Quick Action, remove your current Watermark Image and like before, locate a new watermark image you want to use not forgetting to save your automator file. Now let's see how to use this Quick Action in Finder. I'll first create a PDF document that I want watermarked by selecting several photos and a PDF document and then click on the Quick Action button “Create PDF” as shown here. With the PDF document selected, click on the “Watermark PDF” button to run the custom Automator action as shown. As you will notice the custom Automator Quick Action runs flawlessly in Finder and that the PDF document is now Watermarked.
