#streetfood #chinesefood #streetmarket #chinesebreakfast #breakfast #northkorea Discover the rich flavors of China, one province at a time. Chinese restaurants have opened all around the world, but the dishes served there are typically Chinese lunch and dinner foods. So, what do Chinese people eat for breakfast? Very few people know. In this breakfast series, we travel across the country to explore how each region starts the day — from crispy street snacks to hearty noodle soups. Join us for an authentic taste of local life, culture, and, of course, amazing Chinese breakfasts. In this episode, we’re on the China–North Korea border, in a Korean ethnic community, to discover what breakfast looks like for ethnic Koreans living in China. Here, the two countries are separated by just a river. In the early years after the last century began, ethnic Koreans here could cross over and interact with people on the other side quite freely. They spoke the same language, wrote in the same script, and shared similar lifestyles and food traditions. While it’s nearly impossible for most of us to step inside North Korea, the border region offers a rare chance to taste breakfasts that share the same roots. Let’s see what unique and surprising morning dishes we can find here. 00:00 Highlights 02:48 Pounded Rice Ball(打糕 Dagao) 06:12 Seafood Pancake(海鲜饼 Haixianbing) 08:55 Ginseng Chicken Soup with Rice(参鸡汤泡饭 Shenjitangpaofan) 11:38 Colorful Fried Dough Sticks(彩色油条 Caiseyoutiao) 13:08 All kinds of stuffed foods(各种馅食 Gezhongxianshi) 15:12 Stuffed Flatbreads & Egg Pancakes(馅饼和鸡蛋饼 Xianbing & Jidanbing) 19:33 Grilled Egg Cakes(烤鸡蛋糕 Kaojidangao) 24:12 Fish-Shaped Cakes(小鱼饼 Xiaoyubing) 26:24 Seaweed Rice Rolls (Kimbap)(紫菜包饭 Zicaibaofan) 28:15 Stir-Fried Rice Cakes(炒年糕 Chaoniangao)
