Chronic Ischemic Heart disease or Coronary heart disease is a condition where the coronary arteries supplying the heart develop erythematous plaque, which is nothing but a build up of both cellular and fatty material underneath the intima of coronary artery. The plaque starts initially as a small fatty streak and gradually over a period of time and becomes an obstructive erythema in the lumen of the coronary artery. The coronary artery lumen is compromised around 75% of the cross-sectional area then the individual tends to experience symptoms in the form of a central retrosternal chest pain when performing exercise or during an emotional experience or patient may experience some kind of shortness of breath while walking or running upstairs or any kind of physical activity.
