Good morning, friends and families! We hope you are doing well on New Year's Eve 2024! We are going to be here live not just to ring in the new year, but also to celebrate Rio & Vienna's birthday! Rio especially had a very risky delivery. One year ago today, Paris went into labor with her first and only litter. The first two girls we delivered without issue on the evening of December 31st, but labor began to stall and we had to take Paris to the vet for an emergency c-section to try saving the rest of the litter and in a bid to prevent further complications for Paris. We were grateful to only lose 1 puppy, and the puppies that survived were born in the early hours of New Year's Day, making Rio's and the other pups' birthday January 1st! It was one of our scariest deliveries to date, certainly the scariest of all at the time, so it's a first birthday we are extremely grateful to have! Introducing the stars of the show: Missy - our only Ruby & Alpha female Robin - our blenheim with more white than chestnut Daisy Doodle - our smaller tricolor with long ears and lots of freckles *Elisabeth's ESA Myra - Charlotte's mom and our second, bigger tricolor Paris - our fluffiest blenheim with lots of Cavalier fur *Mae's ESA Pom Pom - sister to Paris, our smallest blenheim Remy - our biggest blenheim mama, with very dark chestnut *Bradley's ESA Vienna (wearing Mickey Mouse) - our smallest blenheim, with freckles on her nose *Bella's ESA Mocha - our only black & tan female/ Pom & Macchiato's daughter (about 6 months) *Drew's ESA Plus we have Juno, she's Mocha's littermate and is a great friend of our pack's! She comes to visit once in awhile, and she's here for a few days! Looking forward to seeing all of you soon! With warm hugs and cavalier kisses, Elisabeth & Drew If you'd like to donate to the dogs directly, we've created a "Buy Me a Coffee" link. We wanted to change it to "Buy Me a Chew Toy," it was only an option if we wanted to pay a percentage of donations received back to the host party. Viewers frequently ask how they can send things for the dogs, so we came up with our own "Buy Me a Chew Toy" link here: https://ko-fi.com/redbarncavaliers If you'd like to become a member of our channel for access to exclusive RBC perks, you can join here: / @redbarncavaliers . We invite the families and friends of our puppies 'into' our home to watch their puppy thrive and grow. You are viewing some of our current Cavalier puppies. We perform all of their care on the livestream for families to see and be part of, including vaccinations, weight checks, dewormings, socialization, and so more. We raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with an emphasis on their emotional-social development. We have raised many puppies for the distinct purpose for becoming Emotional Support Animals. Cavaliers have a temperament ripe for therapeutic bonding, so we nurture those characteristics to optimize them further. We potty train our puppies using pine pellets designed for rehydration. The timing is important because as they get older, they crawl away from their nest to potty and poop - so we want them to go to the pellets! Our puppies typically understand where to go potty within about a week of practice, and they use the potty tray on their own. By 6-7 weeks old, they begin waking during the night to use the potty tray. Our young puppies are kept in our master bedroom for 24-hour observation and care. We leave the audio on so that viewers are able to hear the puppies' vocalizations, but that means you may overhear some personal interactions. We prefer this format because we are able to easily provide context or clarity to viewers if necessary. We show you how we potty train our puppies starting as early as a week old, and how we nurture their training throughout their 8 weeks with us to hand off a well-trained puppy to their family.
