K-BEAUTY가 전세계적으로 많은 관심과 사랑을 받고 있는 지금, 아티스트로서 정말 의미 있는 방송에 함께할 수 있었던 건 큰 영광이었습니다. 하지만 솔직히 당시 촬영 결과물은 여러 상황들로 인해 제 마음에 많이 남아 아쉬움이 컸습니다. 처음 섭외 요청이 왔을 때는 정말 기뻤어요. 이 시기에 딱 맞는 방송이라고 생각했고, 방송 경험도 많아 즐겁게 할 수 있을 거라 믿었거든요. 그런데 녹화 직전 급하게 이탈리아 출장이 잡히면서 1박4일이라는 살인적인 일정을 소화하고 곧장 촬영장에 갔습니다. 잠도 거의 못 자고 몸도 정신도 지쳐있다 보니, 메이크업을 마무리하는 순간까지도 제 컨디션이 아니었던 것 같아요. 결국 결과물로 보여드리지 못한 제 모습에 아쉽다기보다는 스스로에게 많이 화가 났습니다. 프로라면 어떤 상황에서도 결과로 말해야 하니까요. 그래서 당시 모델분을 다시 모셔, 그때 보여드리고 싶었던 메이크업을 차분히 다시 선보였습니다. 이번에는 웃고 떠들며 즐겁게 촬영할 수 있어서 제 마음도 조금은 풀린 것 같아요. 무엇보다 대한민국을 대표하는 60명의 아티스트분들과 한자리에 있을 수 있었다는 것 자체가 큰 감사였고, 그 순간을 함께할 수 있어 뿌듯했습니다. 메이크업을 시작한 지 어느덧 26년이 흘렀지만, 메이크업은 여전히 어렵고 동시에 설레는 작업이라는 걸 다시금 느끼게 되네요. 앞으로도 좋은 모습 많이 보여드릴 수 있도록 더 노력하겠습니다. Have you watched Just Makeup? As K-BEAUTY is receiving so much love and attention worldwide, it was truly an honor for me as an artist to be part of such a meaningful show. But honestly, the outcome of my performance back then left me with a lot of regret. When I first got the invitation, I was so excited. I felt this program was exactly what the world needed at this moment, and since I had done many shows before, I thought I could enjoy it with confidence. But right before the recording, I had to take an unexpected business trip to Italy with an insane 4-day schedule packed into just 1 night. I went straight to the set without proper sleep, physically and mentally exhausted. My hands and head didn’t seem to work together, and in the end, I rushed to finish the look. As a professional, I believe the final result is what really matters, so more than disappointment, I was upset with myself for not showing what I had prepared. That’s why I invited the same model again afterwards, to finally show the makeup look I originally wanted to present. This time, I was able to enjoy the shoot—chatting, laughing, and creating in a much better mood. Most of all, I am grateful for the chance to meet and work alongside 60 incredible artists representing Korea. Just being part of that lineup was something I’ll always cherish. It’s been about 26 years since I started doing makeup, yet it still feels challenging and exciting every single time.
