Ben Builds - The Recon Group Build - F9F-8P Photo Cougar Ep.11

We are back everybody to the Recon Group Build and our 1/48th scale, Kitty Hawk, F9F-8P Photo Cougar. Today, we need to get on with painting this bird, so first off we need to fix up a few seams, plug one of the nav lights on the fuselage and get out the airbrush for some base colors. Should be fun! For paint, we are going to use some NATO Black for basic pre-shade, followed by some Flat Brown for a few contrasting panels. That should prep us for our Light Gull Grey and Insignia White for the upper and lower surfaces. That should be it. Then for some detail painting, we need to paint the anti-glare panel on the nose, some details on the tail and the airbrakes, the wing tips and the flaps and flaperons. I'll use Flat Black, Red and Insignia White for those areas. Next time, I think we can paint on some of the silver leading edges and apply a gloss coat. Then we can start applying the decals!
