At the last FASHINNOVATION event, Zack Hurley joined Gus Bartholomew (Supplycompass) and Alana Tummino (AS/COA) to speak about fashion designers and innovative supply chains and how you can harness technology into that conversation to produce faster and scale your business. They also discussed about what it means to change from a traditional supply chain to an innovative supply chain and what is forcing businesses to integrate these changes into their business models. "Brands hire us to manage supply chain, so that they can better focus their resources on the things that are paramount to them: growing and scaling, because usually they don't have a full team of sourcing people, and pattern makers in supply chain folks. So for us it's basically consistently weeding through the people that will not agree to a certain standard and getting rid of them. I've gone and set up credit card play merchant processes for people. I've had little things that you don't think about that help your vendors to be more efficient and effective. We’ve worked within the states, where we have very different practices. Our dye houses have a very different standard than overseas. So there’s environmental things to think about, and there's also just the knowledge that when I walk in and I can see the people with my own eyes, and any, any day of the week and I can see what's going on. So part of it is having the certifications, but part of it is just me knowing what’s happening, I can see it." - The fashion manufacturing industry is filled with unanswered questions.
