NEW Rail Diesel Car (RDC) No. 9164

After two years of restoration, the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad has added a fourth, fully operational Rail Diesel Car (RDC) to the fleet! The stunning car’s finishing cosmetic touches were performed by our exceptional paint and restoration team members. Logos, lettering, and preservation of legacy signage was masterfully handled by @jamiemakin after the well-deserved retirement of her predecessor, Steve Gilbert. A Brief History of the 9164 (Narrated at 10:30) RDC 9164 is a Phase II RDC 1 which was built in October of 1956 as B&O No.1908. This car was formerly owned by MARC then the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. Afterwards, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad purchased it in 2019.
