Video number two of the series features the Ruxton Model C Roadster. The Ruxton an incredibly rare car that was a contemporary front-wheel drive vehicle to the Cord L-29. The Ruxton features a low-slung body with the fender tops just below the hood-line. With tall 19" tires and the lack of running boards, as well as a 130-inch wheelbase, make this car look to sit extremely low to the ground. Featuring the exotic and increasingly rare Woodlight headlights rather than large round headlights complete the exotic look. While the Woodlights looked sleek in comparison to the conventional lights, they failed to achieve the same lighting. To help achieve the lower and lighter look and balance to the Cord, the Ruxton has a divided transmission with low and reverse in front of the differential, with intermediate and high gears behind. The Ruxton is powered by a 269 cubic inch Continental (Not Lincoln) Straight-Eight Cylinder with a whopping 85 horsepower. In 1930, the Ruxton would set you back $3,195 ($46,670 in 2019 equivalent dollars). Click the Link to watch! • 1930 Ruxton Roadster|Cars of the Auburn Co... The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is located in Auburn, IN and is the location of the original factory headquarters. Just behind the museum lies the National Automotive and Truck Museum, and is the location of the actual production factory. The first floor of the museum is the original factory showroom, and looks as it would in 1930 if you were to walk in the front door to inquire about commissioning the American equivalent of a Rolls Royce. Upstairs, on the same grand staircase Mr. Errett Lobban Cord used every day to get to his office, which you can still see to this day, are various other Indiana-produced antique cars and engines, as well as the original Board Room, Offices and Design Studios! We show features and details that are on the particular model being shown. Performance data, safety equipment and the like are usually not shown due to the already enormous amount of videos that cover the aforementioned topics. We like to cover everything from classics to high-end and everything in between.
