I think we might be the first team to make a science practices game that has nightmares. The thing about practices, is that they are done by communities of people, and people are not just their profession. In Wake, we explore not only the mysteries of aquatic ecosystems, but also the internal world of Olivia as she wrestles with her identity as a young scientist in the context of recent family trauma. We are hopping that the result will be an experience that engages our middle schoolers personally and emotionally as well as cognitively.
