Link to free sheet music below. 'Londonderry Air' is a traditional Irish tune first written down in the 19th century, with the famous words of 'Oh Danny Boy' put to it in 1913. It has become a very popular tune and has been recorded many times. Many performances of this use lots of rubato, and if you would like to take some liberties with the time or even the notes, go for it! I've kept it pretty plain and straightforward in the sheet music and the video just for learning purposes. This is a good piece to practice the 4th finger. There are a lot of logical places to use the 4th finger (to avoid string crossings), but if the 4th finger is difficult for you, you can use the open strings instead. Happy practicing, and have fun!
