The new Wooting 80HE builds upon the legacy of its predecessor in nearly every way but nowhere is that more apparent than the stock typing experience. Gone are the rattly stabs and those scratchy Lekker V1s, in comes solid PCB-mount stabs and a much improved Lekker V2 that sounds thocky out the box. Combine that with the gasket-mount design, a soft polycarbonate plate and ample foam inside, and you get a low-pitched, almost muted sound that feels very dampened. That is partly due to the lack of a traditional bottom-out in these switches but regardless, the stock sound is enjoyable.
