If you own or are thinking about purchasing a new M-powered Mac model - whether a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, or beyond - you have a beast of a video editing machine on your hands. And as a videographer and editor that uses Final Cut Pro X, editing on an M3, M2 or M1 Mac is a dream compared to the experience I used to regularly deal with on my former Intel-based Macs. However, it only takes a bad decision or two or a few key settings that can turn those dreams into nightmares, as I'm now utilizing many different settings and setup choices to improve my editing workflow than I did with my previous Macs, and a number of default FCPX settings can be confusing or unintentionally trip folks up if you're not careful. In this tutorial, I'll cover 5 key editing workflow tips that I've made use of for both saving space and editing fast with my M-powered MacBook Pro, and why you may want to consider these tips as well. While I myself own an M2 Max MacBook Pro 16 inch model, these recommendations should apply no matter what M-powered chip model your Mac is using. Overall, these recommendations span everything from external hardware and settings independent from your Mac, to various settings within Final Cut itself that you'll want to consider. Additionally, I'll also cover two bonus tips that are worth keeping in mind. If you have any questions about the tips or tricks I mentioned, feel free to leave them in the comments below. Also, like and subscribe to the channel for even more videos around editing workflows, storage, and overall Final Cut Pro tutorials, of which there are many on the channel already that I'd encourage you to check out!
