https://data.audio.dev/talks/2020/ent... https://audio.dev/ -- @audiodevcon Organized and produced by JUCE: https://juce.com/ With production & streaming by Digital Medium: https://events.digital-medium.co.uk --- In the talk we’ll take a look at various tools for effective experimentation by comparing different implementations of the same concept, find entry points to innovating in legacy codebases, discuss why safe testing environments are key to creating a culture of experimentation and list advantages of turning risk avoidance into risk management. We'll be invited to challenge our convictions and habits along the way. I’ll share my experience working at the intersection of two vast, adult codebases, 30+-year-old Max/MSP and 20+-year-old Ableton Live, analyze real-life scenarios from the industry, quote scientific research and contribute insights from other communities I actively participate in. --- Anna Wszeborowska (Ableton) Anna is a Technical Principal at Ableton, where she focuses on integrating the company's flagship product Live with Cycling ’74’s Max. Before joining the Max for Live team, Anna worked on the second edition of Ableton's hardware product Push and was part of the team responsible for the company's instruments and effects. Apart from maintaining code in ANSI C and modern C++ on an everyday basis, she actively participates in the Python community and has the status of Managing Member in the Python Software Foundation. Python remains her language of choice for rapid prototyping and automating repetitive tasks. Anna strives to make the programming communities more inclusive through various initiatives, both by running workshops for underrepresented groups as well as creating teaching materials that present challenging topics in an approachable way. Currently co-organizes a Berlin-based C++ study group for women, called dynamic cast. --- Special thanks to the ADC20 Team: Céline Dedaj Timur Doumler Derek Heimlich Josh Hodge Andrew Kirk Bobby Lombardi Tom Poole Ralph Richbourg Jim Roper
