The Red Gundam - Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Gundam GQuX (pronounced G-quacks) is the newest Gundam series but ISN'T actually a completely new universe disconnected from everything that came before like usual. It's actually a what-if story based on someone else getting into the robot- I mean Gundam, in 1979's Mobile Suit Gundam, the original Gundam series that started it all. This makes it a bit more potentially difficult to start as your first Gundam series as it's an offshoot of the Universal Century, the universe that the original Gundam series takes place in (named after it's calendar) that has by far the most sequels, spin-offs and events taking place in it. Pretty much every other Gundam Universe just gets the one show (and it's season 2) and that's it, like Witch From Mercury. The prologue of GQuuuuuuuX (which should probably be the first episode) then covers a LOT of the events that took place during that original series and how they're different VERY quickly. Which can be overwhelming for newcomers and a bit boring when you don't understand the fan service. It's not JUST the prologue though, the way the events have been changed means that there are a lot of characters who should theoretically still be alive during the GQuuX series and MIGHT actually show up again or even be extremely important depending on the scale of GQuuuuX. So I made this short to warn you that at least for a while until you figure out if you like the actual show you can just skip the backstory and come back to it later. I made another full video to explain and prepare you for all of that so that you'll be ready for just about anything that has a reasonable chance of showing up in GQuuuuuX while not wasting your time just explaining everything that has the tiniest chance of showing up and shouldn't be important even if it does. I've mostly focused on explaining the events PRIOR to GQuuuX itself and the important characters and relationships of that time and who might show up again. Nothing on the events or characters that would have originally followed where GQuuuuuuuX diverges as they've no longer happened and so should only be fanservice if they do show up. This also means that I don't spoil pretty much any of the original Gundam series and I also recommend what, and how you can watch them if you want. So yeah, that video pretty much also happened to turn into a full primer for UC (Universal Century) Gundam. After watching it you should actually be pretty much able to watch ANY Gundam series and have a good time. Except SEED Destiny as it's actually a sequel to SEED, and it's terrible and no one has ever had a good time watching it 😜. So go and check out my full explainer video!
