Many houses are built from river stones. No more than a few hundred inhabitants live in Labeaume, an official #village charactère. The narrow, steep alleys, small streets with covered passages and picturesque squares make the medieval artists' village like a giant maze. The highest point of the town is on top of the rock. From there, you have a beautiful view of the river and the bridge from 1875 (Pont de Labeaume). Labeaume is enclosed between three rivers; the Ardèche on the east side, the #Beaume on the southwest side and the Ligne to the northwest of the town. The stretch of river at Labeaume around the bridge is excellent for fishing, but you can also swim around the sandy beach (ideal with more minor children). You will see many day-trippers because the river on site is often broad and therefore shallow in many places. You will find many olive trees along the rivers and the rest of the area. The rock on which Labeaume has situated flows into the rock formation called the "jardins suspendus" (hanging gardens).
