In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he had a string of hit records produced by Lee Hazlewood, which were noted for their characteristically "twangy" sound, including "Rebel-'Rouser", "Peter Gunn", and "Because They're Young". He had sold 12 million records by 1963. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2008. Duane Eddy released Peter Gunn as a single in 1958. It reached number six on the UK Singles Chart on June 25, 1959, number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 14, 1960, and number 30 in Canada November 28, 1960. "Peter Gunn" is the theme music composed by Henry Mancini for the television show of the same name. The song was the opening track on the original soundtrack album, The Music from Peter Gunn, released by RCA Victor in 1959. In 2005, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
