Normally, Jane paints her canvas a cadmium orange light first, and then she sketches her painting on the canvas using Liquitex Hookers Green Deep#225. She does this because she finds a plain, white canvas intimidating. Once she paints it orange, she can then easily sketch out her idea and also include the values--dark and light. The light values will show up on the painted canvas and not get lost on the white canvas. In this video, she reverses the process by starting out sketching on a white canvas and then going over it with an orange glaze that adds a golden/orange hue to the final painting. Titled "A Summer Morning," it captures the feeling of the sun pouring through the breakfast nook window and enveloping the room with with a warm glow.
