A hundred years ago, medicine looked very different. Communities leaned on midwives, herbalists, homeopaths, and natural remedies. Then came one powerful report - the Flexner Report of 1910 - backed by the American Medical Association and wealthy philanthropists. It reshaped healthcare forever. Schools teaching holistic approaches were shut down, midwives and traditional healers were pushed aside, and modern biomedicine took center stage. While this shift brought more science and standardization, it also meant we lost easy access to nutrition, prevention, and the body’s own wisdom.
