ACIM - The 54 Miracle Principles of A Course in Miracles Explained

In A Course in Miracles, Jesus leads off with what are called the "principles of miracles". These span a large volume of material and originally were separated into a little over 50 principles. After editing they were pruned, rearranged, re-delineated, redefined and ended up being "a nice round 50." If we take these edited principles and overlay them with the original principles, we end up with 54 potential miracle principles. This video discusses all 54 principles! The miracle principles tell us a lot about what miracles are, how they work, who does them, who they are form, how to perform them, what they are capable of, what they mean and why they exist. By studying the miracle principles we can learn a lot about miracle working, how to be a miracle worker, and understand better what miracles actually are. Miracles have been significantly misunderstood by a lot of ACIM students, and continue to ironically be a part of "A Course in Miracles" that are difficult for many to grasp. To put them in a more generalized way, miracles are simply a way to close the gap of separation, undo the separation between minds or souls, and reunite you with your brother. They have resurrective, life-giving, power-of-God properties, they supply a lack of love and light and life, they arise when you join mind and identity with your brother, and must be shared. God is also involved in miracles because God is the giver of life and IS the love that unites you with you brother. Miracles also break all the laws of space and time and violate every law of reality as the world judges it, because they transcend the laws of this world and rest upon the laws of God. Miracles also arise out of a state of true perception, right mindedness, miracle mindedness, recognition of atonement and whole mindedness. They are expressions which are sparks of life, have energizing properties, have life-giving properties, supply a lack of light and love, and therefore are capable of raising the dead. This is because sickness and death are symptoms of separation and of a lack of God, or the denial of God who is life. When God is given and shared through miracles in union with a brother's mind, death and sickness are undone on all levels including the physical. This is a fairly long video because there are 54 principles to cover. I've skipped some of the excessive material that's present embedded in or following some of the principles, but have focused on the main essence of each principle. I'm reading from the urtext material which contains some essential and useful information which might not be entirely present in later editions. You can follow along at www.miraculousliving.com in Chapter 1 of the urtext Text volume. It should be particularly noted that miracles do require a fairly elevated state of mind. They require a lack of fear, and the absence of conflict. They express from a loving state of mind, and that love must be as maximal as possible. This is why purification of the mind is necessary before you can regain your natural ability of being permanently miraculous. In essence, we are creative beings and miracles are thought-creations, and a way for us to creatively and constructively and cooperatively use mind. Since we have denied God, we have forgotten how to create. And now we must re-learn and remember how to resume our natural function of miraculousness, which is true of all real created beings on all levels. This is why miracles must be happening all the time, every day should be devoted to miracles, and God is also miraculous. By learning to use the mind's creative powers, we become resurrectors of the dead, healers of the sick, and atonement becomes our natural profession. This is because professing Christ is the natural occupation of all children of God. Atonement must be shared and given. Your brother is a part of yourself, so even if you accept atonement "for yourself" you have to continue to help your brother to accept atonement also. And you can in fact give them atonement by shining light into their mind. As ACIM states in a number of ways, light dispels darkness. Your mind has the power of God's light in it and the power to shine into another mind and enlighten it. Your mind has the power to prevent sickness, to undo guilt, to correct level confusion, and to produce a healing in the minds of others. The light in your mind IS the light in their mind. Even if they have denied the light and caused their own sickness, the light in your mind can shine into theirs and illuminate them, erasing sickness and reversing death. As miracle workers, as miracle doers, we are to express FROM a state of miracle mindedness and an inner awareness of Christ's atonement, transferring thought creations to our brothers, to bind us to them and reunite with them in love.
