Remix produced by Jun Areia =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ORIGINAL Description: I usually write various things about my impressions about the song or the technical aspects of the remix here but this time I though I'll take some time to express some of my concerns and complain a bit; so if you're in exceptionally good mood today I suggest you stop reading here cause I wouldn't like to give you any negative thoughts. I get some messages lately in random places saying "finish that", "why you don't finish this", "when is this remix coming out" and such. Well I appreciate your comments and your anticipation to my remixes but I'm not a remixing machine. A single remix takes hours and hours to complete and as the quality and expectations raise, it takes even more time to study new techniques and experiment. More than that, you may think areia as a dude with headphones that stays at home all day and puts sounds together. That's hardly the case though as I have a very busy life plus I have to study for my Korean class and program some demo games for getting a full-time job. Not to mention that I earn nothing from my remixes. I keep emphasizing that my remixes aren't mashups; every remix I make is in fact a completely new adventure, with brand new sounds designed from scratch; just like making a new song from zero. I don't know any producer that makes a new song every day. It just feels odd that people don't understand the difference between cooking your own food from scratch and just microwaving instant food. Then I get a few people with that critical attitude forgetting that these remixes are just a hobby of mine I do in my free time and I upload them here for free for everybody to enjoy. If you want to do some analysis you can go to the original song and say whatever you like; because people pay for it and because it's made by professionals. I'm just an individual wanting to be happy so I'm not very comfortable with getting attacked. You maybe think that's alright; since the video is uploaded online you have the right and the freedom of speech to say whatever you think and you like. Some people call it contractive criticism I just call it flaming for satisfying personal feelings of insecurity. Just enjoy; if you don't like it go listen something else. Another thing that makes me really sad is that I keep getting those messages about the vocals in my remixes being low. Guys; it's not physically possible. I'm just using the original song; the exact same MP3 you're listening to. Yes the ones with all those instruments in the background and nope there is no standard way of getting rid of those instruments without seriously damaging the voice. I don't have connections in the Korean music industry and unless I get some instrumental, acapella or a cover (like I did in my BOA remix) there aren't many ways around it. So be sure I'm doing everything I can to make those vocals stand out. I always put my dub versions out so you may try to do a better downmix if you like; you'll start understanding how impossible is to remix a song by having just the original MP3 and still making it sound clear without of course making the vocals sound like in a bathroom. Last but not least I'll say again this is not pop music; I usually make trance and house music where vocals shouldn't even exist. If they do they're not the focus of the track; the instruments are. I had some terrible problems with mastering this so the overall quality is not that great. The problem is the usual suspect; the original song. There's like 40% of the original song's instruments playing back there even though you may not be able to hear them. That generates a lot of fuzz in the background which makes the overall remix noisy. I know it's not one of my best so I wouldn't play it in a club but I think it's worth it's place in my remixes as a nice viewing experience, along with the nice lyrics and the music video.
