Octagen

Raw recording: Watch your ears! This is a test of an experimental 'semi-generative' composition/performance setup featuring tight integration between Bitwig Studio and Elektron gear. (It's just a quick recording, so I hope you'll forgive the mix, camera angles, etc.) In this iteration, I have a Bitwig Poly Grid patch with a network of phase modulated LFOs generating melodic content (MIDI note data) for the Analog Four and Digitone. The drums are just a very simple sequence on the Digitakt with a little global probability. Audio and MIDI for A4, DN, and DT managed in Bitwig via Overbridge. The Octatrack then takes two submixes from the above via its AB and CD input pairs for further mixing and performance effects. Finally, the OT scenes and crossfader are also controlling the overall composition (by modulating a few global parameters of the LFO network), synth params of A4 and DN, as well as track volume and other params of Bitwig itself (all of this thanks to some experimental features of my custom Bitwig controller extension for the OT)
