In this offering, we return to Quarryville PA to have another look at where a few railroads entered the town, namely the Lancaster, Oxford & Southern and the PRR/Conrail hi-grade line (formerly Susquehanna & Atglen RR). The ex-PRR line is a bit confusing to me. Old maps show it as the PRR Hi-Grade line (and it does appear to be graded rather high), but current publications-and an FYI sign at the start of the bike trail on it-refer to it as the low-grade line. For most of this line's route, it does follow a high grade! We go beyond Quarryville and use a couple roads for the first time, and see some more spots on the hi-or low-grade line, whatever one prefers to call it. Then on to Oxford, where we again stop at the former station which served both the PRR Octoraro Secondary (formerly the PW&B RR) and the LO&S. Sorry for the low-light by this time, but I included classic photos of the present and past stations to hopefully make up for it. Hope you enjoy! Got a good one coming up after this!
