Summary: Patients with at least two sessile serrated polyps (SSPs) at least one of which was ≥20mm, and who did not fulfill the WHO criteria for serrated polyposis syndrome, have similar rates of personal and family history of colorectal cancer, and a similar synchronous polyp burden as patients with serrated polyposis syndrome. Of note, the risk in those with a solitary large SPS is lower. Serrated polyposis syndrome is under-recognized, warranting a renewed focus on the education of endoscopists by international endoscopy societies.
