@fender actually makes a really good rock amplifier - no, for real! An actual Fender amp that does hard ROCK. I couldn't believe it either! - and then they undo all that good... just watch the video. Side note: as an honest reviewer, I was concerned to post the (very positive) review video I had been working so hard on (after hearing the news I discussed in the video)... days and hours spent, and I end up having to scrap everything and start over. With my very busy schedule, you can probably understand why I got so frustrated. Can I have that time back? Oh well... but the amp itself, IN MY OPINION, is worth talking about (regardless of the news), and IN MY OPINION, it strongly rivals the Marshall DSL40cr... quite possibly surpassing it in combined features and versatility. So yeah, I'm conflicted... a bit frustrated... a bit irritated... and so glad I personally own this amp. Very strange conflicting thoughts. Hm. After the next video - the Part 2 for this amp - I will probably never again do another FENDER review. The bottom line: Most Fender amps I've played: pale, boring, one-trick pony, no EFFECTS LOOP! (which means they're basically garbage), and extremely lacking in anything other than that pristine clean tone they do so well. So nothing for the rocker who wants to venture outside of clean-only and/or vintage clean tone... or spend a ton of money for a very elaborate pedalboard that probably won't take you all the way there (due to that lack of that effects loop - to quote that senator in the video, "That's a special kind of stupid" that they don't seem to correct. Ahem. Talking to you, Fender. The Bassbreaker 15: NOT USABLE, especially in live play. Has a knob to change between sounds. Just nah. Not even. Bad design right off the bat. Do better. Oh wait, you did. (See next amp below.) The Bassbreaker 30r: a little noisy (when the gains are pushed up - like most high gain amplifiers - you'll want to buy a noise suppressor to tame that added noise, but it's do-able)... the sound is incredible, though. A wonderful wonderful wonderful change of pace - a risk that Fender took - that paid off... at least to me. Comes new with a very usable footswitch, the power cord, and an amp cover. (Aw, you shouldn't have. Thank you for that.) This thing does clean, rock, and even hard rock. Throw in an extra overdrive like the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe and the Keeley Andy Timmons Dual Echo delay pedal, and you're going to the moon and back! (I listed all the gear I used in the video.) _______________________________________________________________________________ Oh yeah, let me add... In addition to having to start completely over on creating (recreating) this video from the ground up (following the news I talk about in the review), when I went to post it, it almost got blocked due to a copyright issue made by a guy in Brazil who claims he owns the rights to "Would?" from Alice in Chains and "Heavy" from Collective Soul. As if. ~This~ only popped up because I decided two months ago to give monetization a try (YouTube still puts commercials on my channel, so why should they make all the revenue, right?), but after about a half a second of thought about the matter, I ended that brief monetization aspect... cause I don't do this for money (thankfully, 'cause I didn't receive a dime, hahaha!). Soooo.... it's just me and you - the content creator and the viewer - with no middle man to screw things up. I work a hectic day job for my income, and that has and will suffice. So yeah. The comedy in all this, the "Let's Talk About Specs" spoof (Salt N Pepa) never even came into question in that dispute. That makes me chuckle. _______________________________________________________________________________ To the viewers (who have been growing quite noticeably in the past year or so), Thank You for your views, your kind comments (most of you, anyway, haha), and the encouragement as I continue to carry this channel forward and help as many of you as I am able (when I am able) with product reviews and/or lessons and other stuff. We will move forward broke as hell, but we'll do so proudly. Look forward to more and more content in the days ahead. :) And that's all I have for now. Thanks for watching! Joe :)
