Filmed by Ed Prosser and Tom Lewton www.stevenjfowler.com/soundings www.hubbubgroup.org Soundings is a series of collaborative performances by SJ Fowler, curated in conjunction with Wellcome Library and Hubbub at Wellcome Collection. Over seven editions, each in a different location in and around London, each with a different collaborator, these collaborative performance explore sound and the city. Each edition of Soundings begins with Wellcome librarians suggesting images, manuscripts and books from the Library’s collections in response to a title initiated by Hubbub curators. These sources form the basis of a theme, or are responded to, in each of the collaborative public performances. For Soundings 7, Fowler and the legendary improvised vocalist Phil Minton presented a new piece for performance at Kings Place in London.
