This is one of FSC virtual meet ups (VMUs) on Zoom which we've started doing in response to the COVID-19 lockdown. These free online webinars covered topics such as ecology, easy to ID species/groups, or projects/recording schemes we can all get involved with. In this webinar we were joined by Craig Macadam, Conservation Director at Buglife - The Invertebrate Conservation Trust, national recorder for mayflies and stoneflies and a founding member of the Riverfly Partnership. Riverflies (mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies) are at the heart of freshwater ecosystems and are a vital link in the aquatic food chain. This talk will provide an introduction to riverflies, their lifecycles and ecology. It will explore the work of the Riverfly Recording Schemes and explain how you can provide records.
