We're going to go through the basics of how to throw an uppercut. I have Rene here, again, to use as a demo. I typically don't like to show a rear uppercut. I always like to demo the lead uppercut, especially if it's a righty against righty. Sort of the same way you throw the hook, you always want to protect the chin. So you'll want to roll your shoulder into your chin as you throw the uppercut. The rear hand is going to be, again, protecting the other side of the head, and the uppercut wants to split the guard. You want to come up the middle and land it on the chin. Remember, not leaving your chin exposed, tuck your chin into your shoulder, and use your legs to drive that uppercut up. Okay. If you're going to use the rear uppercut, the best way to use it is against a whizzer or a take-down. If he comes in, maybe I sprawl. I come up, I've got a whizzer. Alright.
