It's been three months since the last serious Inn challenge, and this time Verly was out for blood. This is a brutal matchup for Pyromancer and both bosses have a bunch of mechanics that can screw it over. The fight's signature mechanic is Windspike - every time you hit either Baltael or Danyel, they stack +1 Health onto you. Pyromancer's Flames is 7 hits - and I think you can see the problem here. It gets worse, though - Windspike stacks do not reset upon being manually purged by a skill, so To Ashes does not purge the effect (although Rebirth can since it doesn't damage the enemy). Once Windspike reaches 50 stacks, it gets reset to 0, but whoever you hit gets Boost, Bonus and damage reduction. Out of the two bosses, Danyel is the more threatening one - he pretty much uses the same skills that the revamped Soulweaver uses (and he uses the Synched versions of the skills while Baltael is still alive) - this includes Repentance and Sealing Slash which both inflict +Health. In addition, Danyel also has a bunch of very powerful debuffs and Soulweaver's Annihilation DoT (which kills you if you're below 30% of his max HP, and does a ton of damage otherwise). Baltael has five attacks we need to watch out for: He uses a -200 Crit debuff on turn 2, which kills our Conflagration burst if it hits. Shifting Storm on turn 3 which gives him 10 Bonus for each hit that he misses. Breathless on turn 5 which makes it so that any effects you to yourself apply last only 1 turn. Whirling Winds on turn 6 which gives him 3 Boost for each hit that misses. Finally, Baltael charges up for a very powerful nuke on turn 8 of his rotation - if we stun him on turn 9 of his rotation, then the attack's power is drastically decreased. We aim to use Magma Bubble on turn 2 and 11 - this way, we shield the Annihilation DoT and Danyel uses his Pierce combo, which means that he doesn't use any of his +Health debuffs. We use To Ashes on turn 7 to purge all the -Wind and -All debuffs, and we use Enkindle on turns 9 and 18 to facetank Baltael's nukes so we don't have to waste a turn stunning him. Both bosses have a massive amount of HP - and even though Baltael is an elemental (so elemental specials work here) it still takes two rotations for Pyromancer to defeat him. We use Elemental Unity on turn 10 to spam hitcount - this is so that Windspike hits 50 stacks on turn 15 or 16, so that we don't have to worry about Baltael getting damage resistance when we use Conflagration. We finally use Rebirth on turn 17 to purge most of the debuffs (be careful not to attack either boss with the dragon on turn 17 or 18 - this is so that Windspike does not get reapplied). Even after using Conflagration, we're still not in the clear - we have to win a ~80-90% coinflip on turn 20 so we don't get hit by Baltael's -Crit. If everything goes well, we can defeat Baltael on turn 23. Once Baltael is defeated, the fight gets much easier - just remember to use Magma Bubble on turn 24, and then on the turns which Danyel uses Annihilation so that he doesn't use his +Health debuffs, and he shouldn't take that long to defeat. And all of this is for the level 90 version of Baltael's Aventail...which is barely an upgrade over the level 85 version (it doesn't even get any additional All res!). 10 All res might have been a bit excessive for but we could at least have gotten 9 All from it. The rotation for the fight should be here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... This video is sped up slightly - the original recording took almost 20 minutes. 0:00 Baltael 7:42 Danyel
