Shihabudheen (Shihab C P) has done what many can only dream of. He was born with ‘tetra-amelia syndrome’, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of arms and legs. But that did not stop him from braving the odds. Shihabudheen just completed his post graduate in English Literature from Calicut University. Shihabudheen is the fifth among seven children in his family. Today, he is a motivational speaker, dancer, musician, and artist. Shihabudheen speaks of how he decided to do things differently. He became popular after participating in a reality show ‘Yuvatharam’. He contested with 18 other normal people and went on to win the show. Shihabudheen says that more than our financial or family background, it is our mind that is the most powerful thing. Shihabudheen is currently learning #magic . He has learned to play the drums, piano, and violin, with the help of a specially made stand to hold it. Shihabudheen’s idea is to give a shot at the things he wants to do and be happy in life. He is also the recipient of the Phoenix Award given by a popular TV channel of Kerala. He was also a part of the show ‘Ugram ujjwalam’ of channel Mazhavil Manorama where he gained a huge fan following. Shihabudheen is an example of how overcoming difficulties leads to success and happiness. Shihabudheen did not let his disabilities be an obstacle from achieving happiness. He motivates people with disabilities to live life to the fullest and to try all the things that they can.
